Default GW Trilogy question

I've briefly read the Amazon and EB description for GW Trilogy and it doesn't mention the expansion Eye of the North anywhere in there. Does it not come with EotN? I think the Complete Collection they're releasing in Europe comes with it, so for a newcomer would it be better to grab the Euro edition?

The Trilogy does not come with Eye of the North.

Getting the European version doesn't make a ton of sense, as the Trilogy + Eye of the North is at most $80. The regular price of 35 pounds, when converted to USD is $63, then you have to add international shipping.

Although at Amazon.co.uk they have it discounted to 25 pounds.

You might be able to save a few dollars, but you'll have to deal with the hassle of international shipping.

If you buy the Factions Platinum pack, Nightfall, and Eye of the North, depending on if you can find Nightfall on sale, you may be able to get all of the content as well as the bonus mission pack for the same price.

Factions Platinum Pack
That includes GOTY 2007 Prophecies, Factions, and the Bonus Mission Pack.

Add Nightfall, if you can get for $20, and you just got the Bonus Mission Pack and the campaigns for the price of the trilogy.

But, then you wouldn't get any silly fire imp. If you buy Eye of the North in the in-game store you would, if the fire imp matters to you. And, I'm not sure if you would if you just bought Eye of the North retail.

I've seen EotN going for $9.99 CDN locally, so add $10 to whatever the Trilogy costs to compare prices (if you are in USA/Canada)

At just above 28 pounds delivered to the USA from Amazon UK, that works out to $51. (says 3 to 5 weeks before they have them)

Trilogy is $50 delivered from most places in the USA plus you have to buy EoTN. (Sept 25 availability for Trilogy and EoTN is already out, although most places online I regularly check apparently no longer carry it / always "out of stock"; or the price is $22 or more.)

Trilogy has a nicer box (IMO) and you can probably get it sooner. The Euro Compilation is a better deal money wise, if you don't mind waiting for it.

Kinda stinks NCSoft released two different packages like this, I guess to make more money off the non-Europeans? Wouldn't you think marketing types would realize that with the internet you can see what different things they are offering around the world and buyers might resent it quite a bit they are favoring one area over another? I know I'm not happy about it and have canceled my plans to buy unless the prices change or I can find another cheap EoTN deal. Was thinking of giving them out as presents for X-Mas when I thought the Trilogy included EoTN. Not now.

Thanks a lot NCSoft for making the people on this side of the Atlantic have to shell out $20 to $25 more for the same stuff....

Probably done to keep the price points similar as the dollar/ GBP was $2:1 up to a few weeks ago, there fore the GBP35 equated to $70 ( so in fact $50 Trilogy + $20 EotN) was equivalent.
Of course, exchange rates change which makes it seenm cheaper in Europe atm.

I had also assumed the package they released in Europe was going to be the same one released in the USA...somewhat confusing IMHO.

As an aside, has anyone bought the Euro package? Is it just one code entered for everything or a code for each chapter?

True, the exchange rates change quite a bit which throws off the pricing and you can always just order from another country if it is a really big difference. IF you can find a place that will deliver to your country AND that has it in stock.

The main thing I don't understand is why they have two different packages (contents, not box design). Just seems kind of a slap to the non-Europeans.

More likely, there's a bunch of retailers in the US who have a large stock of EotN and would complain if NCsoft came out with a new product which makes them un-sellable.

Well, all we need are the code(s), good question on it being 1 code or not. It's still feasible to have someone buy the complete collection email the code(s). It did puzzle me with the two different, yet seemingly similar packages.
